Heather Johnson, MT-BC, Music Therapy Director
Heather Johnson is a board-certified music therapist at our Colorado Springs Square Music Company location and is available for music therapy services and voice instruction. Heather provides coordination and direction for all music therapy services.
Heather specializes in music therapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, stroke, traumatic brain injury, intellectual disability, developmental disability, dementia, and Alzheimer’s. Heather Johnson has experience in medical settings, and hospice of all ages.
Using a person-first therapeutic philosophy Heather Johnson provides a neurodiverse affirming approach to the therapy space. She believes positive growth can begin from finding current self value.
Her mission is to help work towards each person’s goals and what they need in the moment through the therapeutic relationship and music experiences the individual enjoys.
BACKGROUND
Heather is a proud graduate of Western Illinois University’s Music Therapy Program, and a current graduate student at Cleveland State University. In undergrad, she also studied voice and classical guitar.
In her free time Heather likes to play games, hike, and skates with the Pikes Peak Roller Derby League.
